It’s truly disheartening to witness the unfortunate reality of numerous dogs and cats being left alone or mistreated by their own caretakers who they adore. However, some of these animals who have gone through such traumatic experiences can still manage to find a happy ending. Despite all the hardships they have faced, they’re able to endure and eventually be welcomed into homes filled with love and care – something they rightly deserve.
Duke, a canine that was only 10 months old, had a similar experience. His owner left him chained to an antiquated vehicle located on the premises of a dilapidated town area, and abandoned him to die of starvation. Duke’s former owner didn’t want him anymore and discarded him like a piece of trash because he was infected with a disease and thought of him as untouchable.
Duke had been deprived of food and water for 10 long days, leaving him malnourished and weak. His body was covered in his own waste and infested with fleas. Adding to his suffering, Duke’s legs were badly broken due to being a victim of a.b.u.se.
Duke appeared to be in an extremely precarious position, and it seemed impossible for him to pull through. However, a compassionate lady and the Rudozem Street Dog Rescue organization stepped in and successfully rescued him, providing him with medical assistance to aid in his physical recovery.
Rowles expressed her surprise when the veterinarian informed her that the injuries sustained by the animal were caused by trauma to its feet. She mentioned that the bones in the feet were broken and shattered, and the ligaments were missing, causing the bones to float around.
After finding out that the shelter was full, Rowles decided to bring Duke home with him. Upon being introduced to Rowles’ wife and other pets, Duke appeared fine at first, but there was a noticeable fear in the way he moved and backed away during the first few weeks. Despite this, Duke quickly formed a strong bond with Rowles’ wife Diane and showed her nothing but affection.
Duke received surgery to correct his feet, which gave him stability while walking. He regained his trust in humans and began to embrace the loving environment around him. The most astonishing thing occurred when a kind-hearted woman in England adopted him.
